Company one of 27 winners in 12 categories this year
PUSLINCH, Ontario – Nestlé Waters Canada, Canada’s marketshare-leading manufacturer and distributor of healthy beverage choices, and Canadian Occupational Safety today announced that the Company has been honoured with gold recognition in the manufacturing category of the magazine’s 2014 Canada’s Safest Employers Award program.
The Canada’s Safest Employers Award recognizes employers from coast-to-coast for their outstanding achievements in workplace health and safety. To qualify for recognition, Nestlé Waters Canada met the following basic requirements:
- Has not incurred any serious injuries or fatalities in the last five years, which resulted in investigation and subsequent charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and/or the Criminal Code; and
- Has not been convicted of any charge under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and/or the Criminal Code in the last five years.
In achieving gold recognition, Nestlé Waters Canada was specifically awarded for building a strong culture of safety around its commitment to OHSAS 18001, an international occupational health and safety management system registration that requires the Company to establish and maintain standards that control health and safety risks.
That culture includes creating safety behaviours and expecting compliance by employees, empowering all levels of the organization to speak up about safety matters, and integrating safety into all operating plans.

Our Occupational Safety and Health management system is based on the concept of continuous improvement, We constantly improve our performance by designing and adapting processes, work practices and systems in the direction of risk mitigation. We base our improvements on the monitoring of safety and health performance.”
