Nestlé Waters Canada is supporting Green Legacy’s mission to educate the community on the value of trees and protecting the environment. Through participation in the Green Legacy Programme, the company will increase forest cover on its Aberfoyle property, ensuring ongoing environmental benefits and helping adapt to climate change.

“Planting trees is part of our long-term plan to conserve the watershed and rehabilitate open fields,” said Andreanne Simard, Natural Resources Manager, Nestlé Waters Canada. “As one of the larger property owners in Wellington County, the Green Legacy Program affords us an opportunity to ensure the sustainability of our watershed and develop mature forest land, while helping the County to achieve its tree planting objective.”

As a company that relies on the long-term availability of high-quality water, Nestlé Waters Canada has a strong commitment to act as responsible stewards of its water sources and the surrounding ecosystem. The company collaborates with schools, local governments, policy makers, farmers, environmental authorities, and other local community members on an ongoing basis to help maintain the local watersheds and educate youth about the importance of maintaining and restoring our environment now and into the future.

The company began planting trees on its Erin property in 2012 and plans to continue to partner with the County’s Green Legacy Programme for the foreseeable future.
