Nestlé Waters Canada donates $10,090 worth of water to help County of Wellington support Sandy Lake

Bottled water will be distributed to evacuated residents staying in Arthur

ARTHUR, Ontario – Nestlé Waters Canada, Canada’s marketshare-leading manufacturer and distributor of healthy beverage choices, today announced that it has donated $10,090 worth of bottled water to the County of Wellington to assist it in supporting 204 residents of Sandy Lake who were forced to evacuate their Northern Ontario community because of life-threatening forest fires.

About 52,032 bottles of water are being delivered to the Arthur Community Centre, where Sandy Lake residents are living until their community is no longer in danger.

“I want to thank Nestlé Waters Canada for this generous donation in our communities’ time of need,” said Raymond Tout, Mayor, Wellington North. “We made the call and they immediately responded. About 4,368 cases of water were delivered to the community centre within two hours.”

Nestlé Waters Canada regularly donates bottled water to municipalities and other organizations in need during local, provincial and national emergencies, largely through its national relationship with the Canadian Red Cross as official bottled water sponsor. Over the last ten years, the Company has donated millions of bottles of water during floods in Manitoba, New Brunswick and Saskatchewan, forest fires in British Columbia and northern Ontario and boil-water advisories and other potable water challenges across Canada.
