Nestlé Waters Canada donates $10,973 worth of water to help Truro, Indian Brook First Nations residents

Canadian Red Cross distributes bottled water to those in need

TRURO, Nova Scotia – Nestlé Waters Canada, Canada’s marketshare-leading manufacturer and distributor of healthy beverage choices, today announced that it has donated $10,973 worth of bottled water to its emergency partner, the Canadian Red Cross, who will distribute it to residents of the Truro and the Indian Brook First Nations communities who were affected by tropical storm Leslie.

About 83,328 bottles of water are being delivered to the Indian Brook First Nations Community Centre to deal with flooding in the region generally and the breakdown of water infrastructure in the reserve specifically.

Nestlé Waters Canada has donated almost one million bottles of water to Canadians in need across the country this year because of forest fires, flooding, severe hydration challenges and/or temporary municipal infrastructure breakdown.

The Company regularly donates bottled water to municipalities and other organizations in need during local, provincial and national emergencies, largely through its national relationship with the Canadian Red Cross as official bottled water sponsor.

Over the last ten years, the Company has donated millions of bottles of water during floods in Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan, forest fires in British Columbia and northern Ontario and boil-water advisories and other potable water challenges across Canada.
