Company donates 200,000 pounds of bottled water towards 317,800 pound total

HAMILTON, Ontario -- Nestlé Waters Canada, Canada’s marketshare-leading manufacturer and distributor of healthy beverage choices, today announced it has donated 200,000 pounds of bottled water to the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club and the 2014 Purolator Tackle Hunger campaign, helping the Ti-Cats and their fans set a record for food bank giving at the club’s historic inaugural game at Tim Hortons Field that took place on September 1, 2014.

The tonnage of bottled water donated by the Company equates to approximately 200,000 bottles of water and is being distributed to food banks in Brantford, Burlington, Georgetown, Guelph, Hamilton, Mississauga and Oakville.

Nestlé Waters Canada’s gift, complemented by individual foodstuff donations made by Ti-Cats fans, Purolator employees and other local companies over the Labour Day weekend, resulted in more than 317,800 pounds of food and beverages being donated to local food banks.

“The Ticats would like to congratulate our fans, our partners and Nestlé Waters Canada for their generous contributions,” said Tiger-Cats President and COO Glenn Gibson. “Everyone in TigerTown should be proud of their efforts to set a new Purolator Tackle Hunger record for the second straight year.”

“We couldn't be more excited about the support of Purolator Tackle Hunger, demonstrated today by Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans,” said Ramsey Mansour, Vice President of Marketing, Purolator. “A big thank you goes out to all supporters of this initiative, who have contributed to raising much-needed food for local food banks over the years.
