Town of Erin and Nestlé Waters Canada Align on Erin Community Benefit Fund

To Press Releases listApr 18, 2017

The following statement is attributed to Andreanne Simard, Natural Resources Manager, Nestlé Waters Canada:

April 18, 2017 (Guelph, ON) – Over eighteen months ago, I started interviewing Erin stakeholders as part of Nestlé’s global Community Relations Program (CRP). While Nestlé Waters had made contributions to Erin’s Barbour Field, the Erin Skate Park and Erin’s public spaces recycling bins in recent years, stakeholders challenged us to step up. They challenged us to make a real financial impact to the Town of Erin, and deliver value consistently.

The Erin Community Benefit Fund is Nestlé Waters’ contribution to Erin’s long-term community-oriented infrastructure. By delivering a minimum of $25,000 yearly to Erin, residents will benefit in a tangible way. At the direction of Council, it will support investments that drive shared and sustainable prosperity for Erin.
We are proud that today the Erin Community Fund, an idea solicited from the community, will move forward.

This partnership signals Nestlé Waters Canada’s commitment to delivering community-building infrastructure – but also a restored commitment to sustainably managing our water sources and to ensuring a healthy and progressive future for Erin. As responsible residents, friends and operators, we aim to make our communities better places to live. That’s because community comes first.

We look forward to being part of the Erin community for many years to come and remain committed to environmental excellence and sustainable water use. I am available to all members of the Erin and broader Wellington County community on a weekly basis. My next community office hours are on Friday, April 21 between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM at the Hillsburgh Community Centre (95 Trafalgar Road, Erin, Ontario).
