Company also encouraging Province, Federal Government to contribute

HOPE, British Columbia – Nestlé Waters Canada, Canada’s marketshare-leading manufacturer and distributor of healthy beverage choices, today announced that it has donated $80,000 to repair a section of Othello Road in front of its bottling facility.

The donation and subsequent repair were necessitated by crumbling road infrastructure at the entrance to the plant, making it difficult for customers and employees to safely enter and leave the property.

Othello Road is a former logging road that is now largely used for commercial purposes. It was turned over to the District of Hope more than 20 years ago by the Province of British Columbia in its current condition. An engineering study undertaken by the District has concluded that the road bed is substandard and requires replacement at a cost of several million dollars.

Nestlé Waters Canada and the District have been working together over the last three years to encourage the Province and the Federal Government of Canada to jointly invest in the proper repair of the road, given its economic importance to the community.
