Nestlé Waters Canada donates $3,705 worth of water to help Port Hope cope with treatment plant failure

Bottled water will be provided until water availability improves

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, Ontario – Nestlé Waters Canada, Canada’s marketshare-leading manufacturer and distributor of healthy beverage choices, today announced that it has donated $3,705 worth of bottled water to the Municipality of Port Hope to help the community deal with a failure at its water treatment plant.

More than 60,480 bottles of water were delivered to municipal officials within hours of their initial request. If more bottled water is required, Nestlé Waters Canada has committed to donate more.

The Company also donated the cost of shipping the water to the municipality from its distribution centre, which was estimated to be an additional $1,000.

Nestlé Waters Canada regularly donates bottled water to municipalities and other organizations in need during local, provincial and national emergencies, largely through its national relationship with the Canadian Red Cross as official bottled water sponsor. Over the last ten years, the Company has donated millions of bottles of water during floods in Manitoba, New Brunswick and Saskatchewan, forest fires in British Columbia and northern Ontario and boil-water advisories and other potable water challenges across Canada.
