Nestlé Waters Canada Receives Inaugural Work For A Cure Builders Award

Company has donated $75,000 to local childhood cancer fight since 2008

nestlewaterscanada_builderaward_355.jpgCAMBRIDGE, Ontario – Nestlé Waters Canada, Canada’s marketshare-leading manufacturer and distributor of healthy beverage choices, today announced that it has been awarded the inaugural Builders Award from Work For A Cure, the community-based volunteer cancer cure fundraising organization.

Since Work For A Cure was founded in 2008 by Nestlé Waters employees Andy Incitti and the late Kevin Fanjoy, the Company has donated $75,000 in cash and tens of thousands of bottles of water to keep the organization’s volunteers and supporters properly hydrated during the many fundraising activities it organizes each year.

By the end of the next five years, Work For A Cure will have raised $1 million to fight cancer -- $250,000 of which will go towards the construction of a cancer treatment ward at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

“In 2008, Nestlé Waters Canada made a commitment to not only support but help to build Work For A Cure,” explained Mr. Incitti. “Their first donation matched almost half of what we raised the previous year and their total commitment was higher than what we had raised in total at that point.

“What Nestlé Waters did was build a level of confidence that drove Work For A Cure to do more,” he added. “In return, they simply asked us not to change. They loved the fact that we were local, made up entirely of volunteers and very passionate about making a difference in the fight against cancer.”
