Nestlé Waters Canada’s plants in Hope, British Columbia, and Puslinch, Ontario, have been ISO 14001-certfied since 2009.
ISO 14001 certification recognizes that Nestlé Waters Canada has established and maintained sustaining and continuously improving environmental management systems, including energy efficiency, water conservation and waste management programs. The Company has set targets each year that will see a reduction in energy usage, a reduction in water consumption, and the recycling of most of its refuse.
As a business dependent on the availability of water, Nestlé Waters is sensitive to the importance of using it as efficiently as possible. The Company is one of the most efficient users of water in the beverage industry, requiring just 1.3 litres of water to produce one litre of water – and its ISO 14001 certification has helped it to put measures in place to ensure that continued stewardship of this and other resources remains top-of-mind with everyone in the organization.
