Bottled water is one of the most heavily regulated food products available. By law, Health Canada regulations for bottled water must be as strong and protective of public health as Ontario Ministry of Environment regulations for tap water. Bottled water is regulated as a packaged food product by Health Canada through the Food and Drugs Act.. We subject our finished products and source water to microbiological analysis every day that exceeds the microbiological requirements outlined in the Safe Water Drinking Act, which governs both municipal tap water and bottled water in the province of Ontario. Nestlé Waters Canada’s domestically-produced natural spring waters meet or exceed Health Canada’s Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality (see the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality at http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/ewh-semt/pubs/water-eau/sum_guide-res_recom/index-eng.php.)
Nestlé Waters Canada upholds a non-existent/non-detect lead standard for water sources that surpasses Health Canada’s regulations. Nestlé Waters Canada's standard levels are 0.5 ppb. In comparison, Health Canada's regulations require 5 ppb (for bottled water), while public water supplies measure at approximately 15 ppb.

We perform more than 2,500 tests on our water supply daily or more in one week than most municipal governments do in a month. A copy of our testing activities is available upon request. Testing is also conducted via surprise annual inspections by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Health Canada, the Canadian Bottled Water Association and Nestlé SA.
Our spring water sources also meet or exceed all individual provincial, as well as Canadian regulatory requirements.
